Come along for an introduction to Boulders and some basic climbing training next Monday, the 17th December. On average it takes two sessions to gain proficiency with knots, harnesses and belaying technique and then you can take the Boulders exam and sign yourself in and join the 'experienced' climbers.
We charge an up front £20 fee and work with two learners once a month over two evenings. You will still need to pay for shoe hire and your Boulders entry fee. The first session has a date and we will negotiate with you and the other learner on that first evening to plan in a second before the month is up, usually the next week or a fortnight after. Go get climbing!
You can RSVP HERE!
This session will be delivered by Andy, the owner of Wales Outdoors and fascilitator of Adventure Activity South Wales.
The Wales Outdoors owner Andy Lamb will be leading walkers from Adventure Activity South Wales on a bit of a challenging day on the hill next weekend...

This is what is says on the event page:
This is a long mountain day so only suitable for walkers who know that they can dig deep and keep on going at a reasonable pace for the whole of the day.
We will navigate around Pen y Fan, reaching it's summit at lunchtime via it's steep north ridge.
This walk will take in a few other tops and is delightful in that it has three uphill sections but the rest of the day is spent walking long downhills or mountain ridges.
Full walking kit suitable for a mountain day is required as is a good packed lunch.

Join Andy, the Wales Outdoors owner, for a day of map reading training. You're in experienced hands, Andy having walked alone across most of the UK's wilds spaces and further afield too.
You can RSVP HERE!
He's a Mountain Leader and has delivered many map and compass sessions, all to great acclaim :) We will start at the beginning, in a classroom environment, and look at the basic uses of an Ordnance Survey Map, the standard map for hill walkers in the UK.
We will also learn about the compass for navigation alongside other key navigation techniques such as pacing, timing, handrails etc. Lunch will be indoors at the Mountain Centre and when suitably refreshed we'll head off to an rea of bleak common land for some truly challenging navigation problems that will test your skills and hone them at the same time.
You will need walking boots, waterproofs and a packed lunch although you could always by food at the Mountain Centre if you wanted to :)
