This walk takes Andy back to when he lived at Forest Lodge and opened the first mountain bike hire centre in the Brecon Beacons.
You can RSVP HERE!
We'll meet at the Brecon Beacons National Park Mountain Centre and walk across the common to Forest Lodge and then follow Sarn Helen, a Roman Road, to the Hanging Valley, perhaps the most beautiful spot in the National Park.
We then follow a little walked route to the summit of Fan Frynich with spectacular views of Pen y Fan and the Central Brecon Beacons before descending, likely following some old workings and almost never used tracks, back to Forest Lodge and then to the Mountain Centre for a well deserved slice of cake and a cuppa.
This walk unusually starts at 0900 to accommodate the tea and cakes at the end of the day :) This is a walk with one hill but a fair distance, about 10 miles, and some have found it strenuous but we think it is moderate... You can decide on the day.
You will need walking boots, waterproofs and a packed lunch.
