Let's make the most of a long weekend (August Bank Holiday) and walk a section of The Wales Coastal Path.
This will be a wild camping trip walking The Gower peninsula. You will be guided by Andy, the owner of Wales Outdoors, who has good knowledge of the area, is a mountain leader and outdoor leader first aid qualified guide and who is a beach lifeguard. There will therefore be wild camping and wild swimming :)
You can RSVP HERE!
Kit can be provided and we won't need to carry much, just some food and water and shared camp kit. We're keen on ultralight backpacking rather than becoming pack mules for a few days. We will meet at Llanmadoc at 10am for the start of the walk.

ITINERARY
The walk is 24 miles in total and so we'll need to average about 8 miles a day for the duration from Llanmadoc to Oxwich. At the start of the walk we'll arrange to leave a car at Oxwich and so we have a shuttle sorted for the end of the walk on Monday. On the way you will pass castles, some of the best beaches in Britain, dramatic cliffs, old parish churches, famous caves with prehistoric links and wildlife in abundance.
Andy has a few ideas for suitable camping spots including being cut off on a tidal island and hopes for at least one beach overnight, with a campfire of course :) 8 Miles over a full day is easily doable by most, even if you haven't walked that distance before you will find it easy enough. No big hills on this route :) The cost includes guiding, all safety kit, map reading and navigation training if wanted and any kit that you might need from a rucksack through to sleeping mats and sleeping bags. Transfer from and to Cardiff or anywhere along the way can be included. The cost does not include food but Andy will advise on this and we will cater together. Go dip your toe not only into the ocean but also into backpacking and wild camping and nights under the stars :)
£99 pp With all kit
£49 pp If you have your own suitable backpacking kit (you will need to discuss suitability with Andy)
