The British Para-Climbing Series is a friendly and relaxed 3 event competition climbing series run at three different climbing walls around the country in 2013. The competition series provides an opportunity for all abilities of climbers (novices to rock stars!) to participate in a challenging and competitive environment where coaches and instructors will be on hand to offer help and expertise to get the most out of this exciting sport!
The BMC are currently trying to build up a network of contacts of groups and individuals who may be interested in competing in these events, so that we can send information on the events and what they involve to those contacts. The BMC have enlisted the help of the students on Outdoor, Countryside and Adventure Degree course at the University of Derby, to canvas the country and build a comprehensive database to help promote this fantastic Para-climbing series.
Para-climbing is a rapidly growing area of the sport of climbing and we now have a British Para-Climbing World Champion – Fran Brown who won her title in Paris at the IFSC World Climbing Championships in August 2012. We hope to increase the numbers of competitors in the 2013 series as much as we can and promote this great area of the sport of climbing.
If you or your group would like to be added to the contact list and receive full information on the series in the near future please respond to this email with an expression of interest to [email protected] or alternatively phone 01298 330815. Also we would appreciate, if you know of any other groups or individuals who maybe interested in finding out about the Para-climbing series, please forward this e-mail onto them or send us their contact details.
If you require any further information on the series please do not hesitate to contact the BMC’s competitions officer – Rob Adie on 0161 4383318 or [email protected]
