The forecast a week prior to the coasteering event was great and it had been patchy in the lead up but Andy, the Wales Outdoors owner thought 'go for it' and so he put it out there, the last coasteering session of 2017.
Amazingly the forecast for both swell and sun was spot on on the day, with a few hours prior and after the weather and swell being too nasty for coasteering. But there we were, basking in the fabulous autumn sun in the 2ft, decreasing to 1ft, swell on ocean.
Unfortunately Andy's phone died on this trip and so not many pics available but suffice to say he and the two local women who attended had a blast.
Coasteering in October is hit and miss due to the weather but the sea is still warm and if there is little wind then bodies remain as toasty as during a summer trip. The only concern was Portuguese Man Of War which have been washing up on the Wales coastline in large numbers but our coasteering venue is a good way up the estuary and so it's unlikely they would be found there.
We managed jumps and traverses and climbs and swims and the feedback was:
'Great morning Coasteering with Andy. Intelligently structured, safety a priority but such FUN!! Thank you.' Karyn.
