Andy is coasteering in the afternoon and camping out at Ogmore Friday night so why not offer a repeat of his successful map and compass for beginners session delivered in Autumn 2016.
This coming Saturday will see Andy working with clients and maps and compass', starting at the beginning and over the course of the morning encouraging all to become confident with basic map and compass skills.
There will be a follow up course in a couple of months time, allowing personal consolidation.
This is what it says on the event page:
'Led by Andy Lamb, this skills course starts at the beginning and introduces the use of Ordnance Survey maps and a compass for hillwalking. We will learn grid references, scale, key map features, and walking to a hand rail.
Consolidation of these skills will be ongoing throughout the morning so be prepared for a walk across a common and along the beach.
You will leave the course feeling safer and more confident to go out either alone or with friends and be able to safely navigate the hills.
Ongoing assistance and refreshers are provided on walking days with this group, so book on a few walks with us to completely hone those mountain guide skills!'
